You can get your fill of theatrical performances, concerts, and exhibitions without leaving campus—not to mention the resources and events of RISD, the city of Providence, and beyond.

Anyone can get involved. You don’t have to concentrate in art or theatre to have your work displayed or to act in (or direct) a play.

Clubs & Organizations

Brown students manage numerous art and performance clubs, including a cappella groups, student-produced theatre, dance troupes, student bands, visual art clubs, publications – even juggling, improv comedy and Taiko drumming.

The Music Department offers multiple programs of study, sponsors student performances, facilitates individual instruction, and hosts special events.

David Winton Bell Gallery

Housed in List Art Center, The Bell Gallery features exhibitions by students and faculty, as well as local, national, and international artists.

Trinity Repertory Company

The renowned, Tony Award-winning professional theatre in downtown Providence is a Brown collaborator through the Brown/Trinity MFA Program.

Rhode Island School of Design (RISD)

All students may enroll in classes at Brown’s neighbor (and vice versa). The Brown/RISD Dual Degree Program is a five-year curriculum that awards bachelor’s degrees from both institutions.

RISD Museum of Art

With a collection of some 100,000 pieces, the RISD Museum is Rhode Island’s top fine arts destination.
