Athletics & Recreation

The Brown Bears compete at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics in the NCAA Division I

A member of the Ivy League, Brown has the nation’s second largest collegiate athletic program (and first largest program for women), with 900 athletes competing on 38 varsity sports teams — 17 for men and 21 for women.

Brown’s athletes are high-achieving students active in many areas of campus life and the community. In 2012, for example, the NCAA honored 20 Brown teams with awards for academic achievement.
