Student organizations embody the energy, focus, and innovation of Brown students. The large number of clubs (formed and run by students) reflects the community’s diversity of interests. It’s easy to get involved.

Arts

Brown has a cappella groups, improv and sketch comedy, dance groups, student-produced plays and musicals, The Brown Band, and many other ways to express your creative side.

Sports

Intramurals: You can participate in sports at many levels of commitment, from club sports to intramurals to varsity athletics.Intramurals: You can participate in sports at many levels of commitment, from club sports to intramurals to varsity athletics.

You don’t have to be a varsity athlete to stay active. Form an intramural team or join one of 17 Club Sport teams, which offer a high level of competition without the time commitment of varsity sports. Express or expand your interests with a recreational student group such as Brown Outing Club, Ballroom Dance, badminton, cycling, polo, table tennis or Taekwondo.

Media

Student media outlets include the Brown Daily Herald (an independent daily since 1891), the satirical Brown Noser, the weekly College Hill Independent, a variety of academic, political, and literary journals, Brown TV, and 2 award-winning radio stations.

Service

Enact change on campus, in the Providence area, or across the globe with one of Brown’s many groups committed to social action, or through the Swearer Center for Public Service. Whether your cause is tutoring, animal welfare, sustainable agriculture, political campaigning, or international human rights, you’ll better the world and meet others who share your interests.

And more…

Campus life includes student government, religious groups, cultural and ethnic organizations, political clubs, fraternities and sororities, and event groups such as the Lecture Board and Brown Concert Agency.
